The sire, ROCK OF GIBRALTAR, was a dual Group 1 winning juvenile and then 5-time Group 1 winning 3-year-old resulting in him becoming the first horse ever to win 7 consecutive Group 1’s in the Northern Hemisphere. His current season Stakeswinners includes the likes of Golden Archer.
Shalang, the Langfuhr mare, had 2 wins at 1600m and 1900m, winning such races as the Property Management Plate and the STC Tooheys New Handicap. Other impressive achievements were her 3rd in the listed race, the AJC Dulicify Handicap. This is her third live foal. Her second foal is still to race. Shalang’s first foal, Nanda Kot (m. by Encosta De Lago) accumulated 3 wins during her racing career.
Shalang comes from a quality family, being a half-sister to SHAME, who had 6 wins, two wins at Group 1 and two wins at Group 2 level, who in her racing career accumulated $895,553 in prize money. SHAME has produced quality winners herself and is the dam of DEMERIT (winner of the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude) and of Suede who is the dam of the up and coming, Lohengrin, who has had two starts for one win and one second.
