ENCOSTA DE LAGO is a phenomenal group one sire by Fairy King. Encosta De Lago is the sire of numerous Group 1 winners, including the recent winner of the 2011 Group 1 Coolmore Classic, ALOHA.
The Danehill mare, SHANIA DANE, was well accomplished on the racetrack with 5 wins, two wins at Group 2 level including the Bankstown Sports Premiere Stakes and the Prolock Phar Lap Stakes, and two wins at Group 3 level including Tramway Handicap and the South Pacific Classic. SHANIA DANE was placed at Group 1 level 5 times and earned $847,050 in prize money throughout her impressive race career.
This is her third foal. Her second foal, Animoso, is a two year old trained by Hawkes Racing. Shania Dane’s first foal, Reprieve (g. Encosta De Lago), is currently in training with Tim Martin Racing.
SHANIA DANE comes from a winning and quality family. She is the full sister the following:
- SCINTILLATION who had an impressive career in Hong Kong earning $1,936,400 in prize money, with 12 wins including a Group 3 win in the Sha Tin Sprint Trophy.
- Danevade who had 3 wins and was placed at Group 2 and Group 3 level.
- Puzzle Book had 4 wins and earned $101,500 in such races as the STC Rebecca Lancaster Handicap, AJC Honda Accord 2YO Handicap.
SHANIA DANE is also the half sister to Sequin, the dam of GET TO WORK (f. by Snippets) a winner in the SAJC Cinderella Stakes and placed 3rd in Group 3 SAJC Jansz National Stakes.
